Варыпаев - Химические источники тока. Учебное пособиеVarypaev – Chemical Current Sources. Tutorial

Varypaev’s textbook, “Chemical Current Sources,” provides the fundamentals of the theory, design, and operation of chemical current sources (CCS). The most common primary cells and batteries, their design, and characteristics are discussed. Lithium cells, backup and fuel batteries, and metal-gas batteries are also presented.

Varypaev’s book, “Chemical Current Sources,” is unique in domestic or foreign literature and can be useful to engineering, technical, and scientific workers involved in the development, production, operation, and application of CCS.

The purpose of this textbook, “Chemical Current Sources,” is to provide a rigorous yet accessible presentation of the theory, design, and characteristics of the main types of chemical current sources (CCS). This textbook is written for electrochemistry students and is based on a lecture course taught at the Lensovet Leningrad Technological Institute.

Chemical current sources constitute one of the fastest-growing areas of applied electrochemistry, closely related to electrical engineering. The development of chemical current sources is coordinated by many branches of science and engineering, for which a chemical current source is primarily an autonomous power supply unit. Therefore, advances in chemical current sources often determine the progress of scientific and technical fields, creating the preconditions for the development of modern technology, from spacecraft to consumer goods. Conversely, the difficulties encountered in creating advanced current sources hinder the development of other areas of technology.

In the textbook by Varypaev – Chemical Current Sources. The textbook primarily examines the types of modern current sources that are most widely used or are considered promising in the near future. Considerable attention is given to general issues of theory, design, and operation.
