Program for calculating pipeline insulation (heat loss through insulation) with calculation of the economic (optimal) thickness of the last layer of insulation.
The pipeline insulation calculation program (heat loss through insulation) includes the following features:
1. Aboveground insulation for up to 3 layers. Calculation of coolant freezing time during idle periods.
2. Underground ductless multi-pipe (multi-thread) for up to 4 pipes. It is possible to
construct and view soil temperature fields, determining the soil temperature at any point along the specified underground section. The placement
of pipelines in the ground can be changed by entering coordinates.
3. Underground insulation in impassable channels for up to 4 pipes.
4. Calculation of heat loss along the length of a steam pipeline for aboveground installation. Calculation of insulation volume (excluding K (seal)), pipelines, and surface area.
5. Calculation of heat loss through multi-layer walls (including air gaps). Calculator of the thermophysical properties of dry air.
6. Calculation of heat loss in steam pipeline companions. Calculator of the thermophysical properties of fuel oil products (Walter equation coefficients) and pressure losses in a straight section of a fuel oil pipeline.
7. Calculation of single-pass horizontal “pipe-to-pipe” heat exchangers (steam-to-fuel oil, steam-to-water, water-to-water). The heating medium is supplied only to the annular space.
8. Calculation of the heat transfer of a horizontal pipeline to compensate for heat loss through the insulation of a gas-air heating system (BAGV).
9. Calculation of pressure losses on the components of heat metering units. Calculators of the thermophysical properties of water and KMS.
10. Section on assessing the irrational use of water, compressed air, heat loss from uninsulated fittings, electricity for pumping water through hydraulically imperfect pipes, and more…. Several reference books on the properties of thermal insulation materials, refractories, and steels (for personal use).
11. Calculation of water heating in a tank (washer pits) using a horizontal steam pipe.
12. Calculation of radiant slot heat exchangers (fuel-natural gas).
13. Calculation of insulation thickness to prevent moisture condensation from the air on the surface of an insulated object (the thermal resistance of the surface itself can be taken into account).
14. Calculation of heat loss through a surface with heat-conducting inclusions.
15. For some calculations, results can be exported to a text file. A number of intermediate calculation parameter values, explanations, links to formulas, and components of the calculation results can be viewed in “tooltip” mode by hovering the cursor over the corresponding cells.
A list of references and links to formulas are included in the program itself.
This program for calculating pipeline insulation (heat loss through insulation) was developed “for myself.”
Program version: 03.02.2012.
Interface language: Ukrainian. (Compared to the previous version, the calculation of heat loss in an underground vertical reservoir has been revised.)
