Zhukhovitsky – Test Assignment in Heat Engineering

These methodological guidelines have been prepared in accordance with the curriculum for the course “General Power Engineering,” intended for students specializing in “Power Supply (by Industry)” who are pursuing their studies while remaining employed (part-time/distance learning).

The document outlines the assignments and provides guidance for completing the coursework in thermal engineering. It also includes reference data necessary for solving the problems. These guidelines were prepared by the Department of Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation, and Hydraulics.

For each problem, the initial data must be selected from the corresponding tables based on the last two digits of the student’s identification number (code). The assigned version of the work must correspond to the student’s specific identification number; submissions that do not match the assigned version will not be accepted.

When completing the assignments, students must adhere to the following requirements: a) state the problem conditions and the initial data; b) provide a brief explanatory text for each solution, specifying which quantity is being calculated, the formula used, the values substituted into the formula, and the source of those values (e.g., from the problem statement, a reference table, or a previously calculated result); c) perform calculations using SI units, show the step-by-step solution process, and include the appropriate units of measurement.

After solving a problem, provide a brief analysis of the results and draw conclusions. Whenever possible, verify your work and assess the plausibility of the obtained data.
