Леонтович - Введение в термодинамику. Статистическая физикаLeontovich — Introduction to Thermodynamics. Statistical Physics

This volume, *Introduction to Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics* by M. A. Leontovich, comprises lectures originally delivered by the Academician—primarily at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University—which were previously published as two separate books: *Introduction to Thermodynamics* and *Statistical Physics*. Even in the section on thermodynamics, the author goes beyond a purely phenomenological presentation, revealing the true meaning of thermodynamic concepts and laws from a deeper molecular-statistical perspective. This approach distinguishes Leontovich’s treatment from standard expositions of phenomenological thermodynamics.

The statistical physics of thermodynamically equilibrium states is presented through the systematic use of the Gibbs method. The interpretation and understanding of the most challenging and fundamental issues in statistical physics offered here are unique to Leontovich and are not found in other texts.

This book Leontovich — Introduction to Thermodynamics. Statistical Physics  is intended for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in physics, physical-technical, and engineering-physics disciplines, as well as for a broad audience of researchers working in the field of theoretical physics.
